You have been referred to participate in Montgomery County’s EARN Program! The plan you have signed at the County Assistance Office should tell you the date you are expected to report.
Once you report for EARN, you will be enrolled and obligated to report for the hours designated by your plan.
If circumstances are currently preventing you from participating for the required number of hours, please speak to your case worker or EARN staff immediately!
EARN has 2 locations (Norristown and Pottstown) to serve your job search needs. However, every person referred to EARN must report to the Career Assessment Center in Norristown for an initial orientation and assessment!
OFF-STREET PARKING IS AVAILABLE. If you choose to park in the parking garage, it cost $5.00 per day and is your responsibility.
When to Report
Please be advised that you will need to be here the full day to complete the assessment / orientation from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Please arrive at 9:00 am on the day you are scheduled to report. Assessment begins promptly at 9:15 am and no one will be admitted after9:15. Due to the rigid schedule, no exceptions can be made.
Anyone arriving by 9:10 AM will receive a $5 voucher to dine in the Human Services Center Heart and Soul Café located on the 1st Floor of the building.
What to Bring
The goal of EARN is to help you secure employment. Please bring 2 forms of ID for us to keep on file and make sure you will have the documents necessary to your job. If you do not have ID, speak to EARN staff for assistance.
Feel free to pack your lunch as refrigerator and microwave are available. You are also welcome to dine at the reasonably priced Heart & Soul Café located in the Human Services Center.

Many people do not know what type of job they have skills for or what they might enjoy doing. Take advantage of EARN Assessment Tools so you can narrow down your options and begin a conversation with your Career Specialist about what the next step might be in achieving success.
The Test of Adult Basic Edcuation will give you a better idea of what training, education, or job matches your skills. It is very important that we have an accurate representation of where you stand academically.
Get a good night’s sleep the night before assessment and remember glasses if needed for reading.
